Beginning a New Year—2023

I didn’t even realize I still have my blogger account.I started it in 2012 and here it’s 10 years later. A lot has happened since then and I’m still alive and healthy. As I age I have the usual aches and pains. My memory is slipping so I work at keeping my brain exercised through word games and learning Spanish with Duolingo. I also continue to play my guitar and keyboard to keep my mind sharp.I’m not as fluent on my guitar. I’ve lost dexterity and speed and my right hand shakes so it’s hard to hold a pick when I play but on the keyboard I don’t have the problem and I can use both hands to play the lead and chords independent of each other. So what I’ve lost on the guitar I’ve gained playing on the keyboard. I still love writing, creating and recording. I like using Garageband and now BandLab. I can play on other people’s songs and they can contribute to my songs. The great thing about BandLab there’s so many great musicians including guitar players so I don’t have to worry about how poor and weak my guitar playings become. I still love playing my guitars so I’ve slowed down by doing songs that are more melodic and easy to play. Then there’s YouTube that has tons of guitar playing and techniques videos. There’s the short clips too for tips and tricks. There’s all styles too. Rock, Blues, Jazz, Country, Hip Hop, Rand B etc. So I can create to my hearts content. Anyway life’s good and I have a lot to be thankful for.I thank god I get to experience it so abundantly—loving family, loving wife loving pets, loving God, Jesus and Mary, roof over my head, warm place to sleep and plenty of food to eat.  I have more than money could ever buy and most of all I’m thankful for each and every day I get to be a human here on earth. I’m looking forward to the next journey GOD  has planned for me when I get to be with the Holy Spirit and all those waiting for me in Heaven—

New custom blog site!

I love how it's now so easy to change your settings in a personal style. This particular picture above is
a mall in Waimea Maui that I just loved the architecture and design. The stairway down with the waterway
next to it just fascinated me so I took a picture to remember it's uniqueness and beauty of the Hawaiian
culture. Now I can enjoy it everytime I open my site and I hope you enjoy it to------

john morton - Google+:
I'm excited about joining Google+.It already seems like a better way to connect with friends, associates and professional people and having the privacy to share with family.I especially like being able to follow famous people and special interest groups without having to look through everyone elses email like facebook. I think this is going to be a real winner for Google. There's still things I'm trying to figure out but the tutorials Google has are making things fairly easy to understand and for someone like me that's really encouraging.'

In Celebration of a Great Man

What would you do if you finally had it all and you really got it and you'd have to pay the price of losing all your family and friends? I felt that way attending a funeral for a long time friend that I hadn't seen in years that gave me some advice in my younger days. I was out of work and couldn't pay my bills. I felt desperate about losing everything I owned. I told him my problems and he said, "Let's get a beer and go in the garage."He told me the most important thing is to take care of your wife and kids and everything else will take care of itself. You know he was right and it showed by how many attended his celebration of a great life. Not too many people were mourning and they all had similar stories like mine. He'd give you the shirt off his back and then some, just to help you fix something on your car or tv or what have you and never ask for anything in return. He had grandkids and great grandkids and was proud of everyone of them.He volunteered for any good cause even after he retired. He was never without something to do for anyone that needed a hand. His most enjoyable thing to do was sit and watch tv in his favorite recliner drinking a can of beer. Many times he'd fall asleep with his grandkids on his lap.He was loved by so many people and yet he was just a simple man with no outward ego.Even when he was close to his maker he still had a sense of humor. He wanted someone to pull his finger and you know the rest. That wasn't his biggest surprise and this one was unbelieveable. He said if anyone showed up at his funeral and took the time to stay they deserved a lottery ticket because maybe they'd get lucky and win. As the usher gave me a ticket I thought to myself he truly won the lottery of life.He was 81 years old and you'd never know it.I think because he always had a smile on his face-----------
